Hey again! My other bullhead is doing great and has eaten, I want some more though as I will be building a 400 gallon tank soon. How would I bait for them? I have no traps, but maybe someone can give an example a simple, yet effective DIY trap for me? The place I'm searching for them is a moderately flowing creek, saw some other bullhead while I was out but too fast to catch.

why dont you just net like you did your other one.....how do you go from a 20 gallon tank....and just decide your building a 400 gallon pond?

Netting them is hard, might take a few weeks before I catch another with a 5 inch aquairum net. I already have a 20 gallon tank, 2 weeks into a cycle, so I might as well put him in it. It's a 400 gallon tank, not a pond, and I was planning to build one with my savings for an RTC, but those won't live in there for life so I thought I might as well go with 5-6 bullhead.

I caught my large yellow bullhead with a net a couple summers ago.. great fish...
get a minnow trap and tie it to the bank and bait with dog food or bread or fish parts...
or get a bigger net! good luck with the 400 gallon!
