HI would these fish work in a communtiy 29 gallon tank?

Demasoni
Acei
Bumble bee
Female Auratus
Electric Yellow
Bala Shark
Pleco

I was wondering if there would be too much aggression but I have heard that a tank that is well-stocked reduces aggression. Would the bala shark work? Are any of the fish listed too aggressive? I am getting fish this Saturday so please hurry!

too small for balas...you will find them extremely skittish in such confined space. balas really need a six foot tank and be in a group to do well.

As another poster wrote, the 29 is too small for the cichlids. I have two bala's in a 20 long growout with rams and a small angelfish without issue though.

I had 3 balas nearly a foot long and still growing before I sold them, the 29 may work for a grow out but definitely need a bigger tank for a permanent home

I had a bumblebee male take over a 70g and systematically kill off at least 10 other africans. they are really nasty fish and they only seem to behave if they are overstocked.

Also balas have small mouths and are not particularly competetive feeders. they make bad dithers for aggressive feeders like cichlids. It's why they do well in community planted tanks with smaller non aggressive fish. if you want a good dither to put with african cichlids I could suggest congo tetras, they are an african tetra that mix well with cichlids.

Thank you guys!

I actually ended up getting:

2 small electric yellows (m/f)
1 small demasoni
1 small acei
1 red-tailed shark
1 chinese algae-eater

Demasoni has become dominate male. How can i reduce his aggression? More fish? More hiding spaces? The acei is the main target of his random out bursts, no fin-nipping though.

Oops sorry about double post, a lot times something will pop up on my screen that says "monsterfishkeepers is not responding" and it will go kind of haywire. Oh ya,how can I get a profile pic? :D I am a newbie.
