Everytime I feed this happens..they eat for about 2 minutes and then get right next to each other so that they are touching side by side and smack each other with their tails, bite, then fly around the tank taking everybody out. Used to just be with blood worms but now is with every kind of food. Dont think its a big deal really but everyone else is calm and eating and literally get run over if they arent dodging. They are both about 5-6 inches, one much thicker than the other. Odd behaviior and dont know why.

I dunno why but this makes me LOL!

What else do you have in the tank? Try feeding in multiple spots if you think the balas are hogging all the chow. You can also try feeding floating/sinking food which ever the balas are not used to.

So I am thinking this is normal behavior for the bala. I purchased a 55 gallon and it came with 2-5 to 6 inch bala that are tank mates with gold and blue gourami's. they play holey heck with their home. You might say "Never a dull moment"!

Ya I guess it might just be their behavior. Just interesting to me that it has only happened for a couple weeks and they completely ignore other bits of food in the tank...all they want to do is chase and do their weird rubbing. Everyone else, silver dollars, severums, etc are all ok with it...for now, the large severum is slowly starting to get sick of it.

Normal bala shark behavior. I have a 12'' one and 2 2'' ones that all do the same thing.
