bala/tri-colored shark

i think my tri-color sharks where geting it on last night... dose anyone have any exp. with breeding them?? have they spawned by mistake in your community aquarium?? any info on these guys breeding habits would be very helpful.

Which "shark" are you searching for info, exactly? Balas? What is a "tri-colored shark", BTW? The same as balas?
I believe some additional info is useful here... Tank setup, fish sizes, number of fishes, tankmates... Any pics are welcome too, IMHO.

bala and tri-colored are the same fish. community tank... 65 gal... have three of the sharks, and the 2 biggest ones (about 4 inchs) where rubbing up agains each other for a good ten mins. last night, right at feeding time, they both took some food, then went at it.

Maybe... I think they are too small to breed, but watch them closely and keep us updated.

talked to a guy at the LFS tonight, and he said that they could of paired off, but they are to small. he said he went to a convention in fl. and someone had breeders there and they where a good 2ft. so.... highly doubt they are going to breed, they might, but not right now.
