Could I leave a heap whole of blackworms for the pups to eat since they are live? I think only only 2 of my 6 pups are eating, will the others learn? They about 5 days old and others are getting skinny..

YES, I'd cover the filter intake with a foam so you'll know exactly how much are being consumer versus being suck into the intake.

They don't foul the water, but instead of a big heap, just make sure there are ALWAYS blackworm on the floor.

or take a turkey baster and suck up some worms in it and squirt some under each pup.. They should start eating them rt then and get the taste for them. After a few days they will get use to seeing the turkey baster and know what its for. then in about a week, you can just put them in the tank and all the rays will be eating..

Pups are now 6 days old and shows no interest in food , they getting very skinny.

Feeds them bloodworms, sinking carnivorous pellets crushed, and lastly live blackworms. Placed heaps of blackworms the floor bed to make sure they see them

Will they eventually eat or stave and might die?

Try a thin layer of blackworms across the bottom. My pups where actually scared of blackworms in big piles, would bury themselves every time I put them in. When I do a thin layer of worms across the entire tank some of the pups eat them right away. The leftover worms burrow into the sand bed and the pups all go hunting for them and pull them out of the sand whenever they get hungry.

I've place more and more blackworms everyday into the tank. They seem to be disappearing. But the rays still skinny, there is no dent between the eyes yet.

Are they just eating little from the beginning? They are 8 days old now, this normal?

Thought they would be eating so much that their behinds are bulging out

Please advise...

You have just broken the first rule of buying a ray, always check to see if they eat in the store before buying, alway choose a variety of food not just one type of food. You are just using black worms, you can start them off with other food then u can try to get them to eat the food u wnt them to eat but get them to eat first try shrimp, night crawlers (earthworms) , ghost shrimp, tilipia, and trout. There is a website that he tries to get his new motoro to eat shrimp but it turns out he like trout. fillete the trout, cut it, and freeze it. Tillipia is best. There is also a time wen u have to make a mixture for the ray, add, earthworms, blackworms, shrimp, these little small fish i forgot the name starts with a m small feeding ones, and maybe trout fillete, beat it and mush it together using a blender or something and put it in a turkey baster and feed the ray with it try that. Make a little because they dnt always go for it, and also scared of it.

I think these pups were born from some rays he already had. I maybe wrong, but since he said they were just 5 days old tells me he had a set that had pups.. So he is trying to get the NEW pups eating.
