ball pyhton heating question

i curently set-up a tank for a ball python im getting tomarrow. i bought a uth and heat lamp. the problem is the hot side is like 100 degrees and low side in the low 80's. is this aceptable? i think its to hot, but am not sure.

Do you even have a Thermostat and Thermometer?

What are the ACTUAL temps?

98 high side and 85 low side

I would get the low side to around 70...They need a place to cool off.
