I apologize for the crappy cell phone pic.

This girl finally laid yesterday, 8 good eggs 1 slug, not bad for her first clutch!

Congrats! Planning on selling them or keeping them?

Congrats! Nice looking snakes. Love the color of your male. I'm not a real big snake fan cause I think they are kinda boring but if I got one, that's the species I would get.

Umm, gonna have to play that one by ear ;)...I'm a hobbyist breeder 100%...so if I don't want to keep them and no one expresses any interest in buying them, I'll end up trading them for some other ball morphs that I've been eyeing!

They're not a display animal for sure...but they are an awesome snake that doesn't mind handling, has really cool patterns and color, and you never have to be the least bit worried about being bitten. Not saying that balls haven't bitten anyone ever, but in all my years of keeping them, I can count the number of times I've been bitten on one hand :)

Wish I could say the same for my blood python...that little *****head tries to nail me every time I change his water!

I friend of mine has a real docile ball python that is fun to hold. Now another friend of mine has an ATB that is crazy as hell and tries to bite you anytime you get near the tank.

Haha, nice. I love Ball Pythons and pretty much any snakes.

I still need to sex my Ackies, but they are not old enough yet -- I think there is two males in there, but it can easily be all-female or a couple of males with an alpha female making the rest suborinate to her.

Good luck with breeding your pythons and many more clutches to come! We need more CB Ball Pythons on the market, there is still too many CHs and WCs on the market.

Thanks so much, I've got 2 more clutches on the way. 2 more girls ovulated last week, so ~45 days after ovulation, they'll lay, so expect some more egg shots in a month or two ;)

Agreed on the CH thing...I'm all for CBB stuff...the crappy part about it is, the more morphs that are bred in captivity, the more morphs people want from wild stuff to prove out on their own. So honestly, its a double-edged sword - you'd think that more captive breeding would decrease the numbers of CH and WC stuff being imported...unfortunately, its not.

But...here's a little inside info to make you feel a little better about the exportation process. I read a report done by CITES on ball pythons and managing their wild population. In Ghana, appearantly, there's two ball python populations, one in northern ghana, the other in the south. The south is considered an invasive species and have adapted to and are thriving in the areas that have been cleared for farmland. Its sort of like hunting deer over here...they need to export them into the pet trade or the food trade (the asian market eats all kinds of wierd stuff, including ball pythons) in order to keep the population from exploding.

That is some great stuff there!! What morph is the male??

Also you have a PM!
