My juvenile bamboo shark suddenly died today.
It went from active and healthy, to dead within less than an hour.
There is nothing wrong with the water, no visible marks anywhere on the shark, and no real reason for it to have just suddenly turned up dead.
Other more sensitive fish in the system are still doing perfectly fine (rays, seahorses, inverts, small fish, etc).
It's almost as if it had a heart attack or went into shock over something.

I'm looking for answers as to why this could have happened.

To be honest, sometimes it happens. I've lost a few that way. A shark that will be healthy as can be, even eating in the AM turns up dead in the PM with no sign of anything going wrong. An in depth necropsy might give you some answers - but it's not 100% that you'll ever find a cause of death.
