Bamboo Shark Info Needed

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well the first thing you have to do is buy Scott michaels book "aquarium sharks and rays". Second you need a minimum of a 180 gallon. I suggest buying eggs and hatching your self. I have 2 that I hatched myself and after the 2 week waiting period after hatching they accepted the food the first time I offered it to them oppose to people who buy the sharks allready hatched. You will find lots of info in the past few posts if you search back through a couple of weeks worth of posts. There is so much that I could tell you that it would take pages and pages of typing. After you buy the book and read it cover to cover a couple of times and read all the posts on here on the topic of bamboo sharks then you should ask some questions. If your really stuck then i'll type my brains out. :D

You have to have the tank cycled "off course" and have lots of flow. I just laid my eggs on the substrate and let a powersweep pass by them to ensure good flow over them. Then all you do is wait. Pretty easy.

Maybe one of these evenings i'll get ambitious and do a write up for you about these sharks like you asked for but you really should use what I suggested first to teach yourself. That way it will stick in your head better plus you'll always have the book to go back to for refrences.
