I went into petco over the weekend an saw one of there tanks had bout 7 live bamboo shrimp. I almost bought one but thought itd just end up an expensive feeder. Plus there was a dead one in the tank as well. They looked pretty cool, Anyone have any info on them?

there very fragile and have to keep the water super clean i have had about 4 or 5 but hey never do very good no i have a vamp shrimp and shes been doing great for over 7 months and inthe other tank i have macrobracium rosenbergi prawns and there tough little guys id stay away from the bamboo and it seems any stress they just croke

I have kept several, as mentioned they are a bit delicate, they work wellin planted community tanks with small fish like zebra danios and most small tetras, gouramis and such tend to pick their legs off. They like a bit of current and need something to climb on like bamboo or other plants, They will eat crumbled flake food and small brine shrimp as well as picking up detritus but a couple times a week at least you should use a baster to deliver the food directly to them. Vampire shrimp are easier to care for, just don't drop a rock on them like I did.
