Saw these today at Wharf Aquatics. They're Banded Asian Leaffish or Catopra (Pristolepis fasciata). I've kept them before but never, ever seen them this big in shops. They had 3 in the store, I took the largest and one of the others. They have a beautiful reddish shine to them with some stripes at the rear. The one I'm holding is the smallest-the bigger one I measured and was just under 8" TL. According to most sources this makes them full-grown. It s ashame they're not more common. I was expecting some fighting between them and the Tigerfish but so far, so good ;)

Pristolepis are presently considered "Nandids", so they are in the leaf fish family, but the line between leaf fish and labyrinth fish is not clear. It won't be long before more analysis clears this up though.
