Hi all ...i saw this bichir When i went to the local LFS market here in the Pines...The woman who owned the shop called it a banded bichir and she didnt know the genus name aother than that it was a banded bichir, the only banded bichirs that i know of in our part of the world are either endli's or Del's...I cant quite ID this bichirs...Can anyone help ID them and tell me a little bit about them cos i'm planning to get them for my collection they run for about $30 US...:) :)

all bichers have the same genus:ROFL: Pics to blurry for me to tell anything

i can't tell from the pic but it could be a palmas. i don't think it's a del. is it a lower jaw bichir or upper jaw?

from the couple brighter shots, i'd say one of them (the one on the left in 2nd pic) is a delhezi. can't get a good look at the other one, but if both are the same, i'd say both are delhezi.

del color can range from very light to very dark gray. heres mine taken with bright lighting (and no its not deformed, just the position)

p.s. i've also seen pics of some 'delhezi' that have very dark color and look very much like a delhezi, but something seems off. i don't know for sure if its just an anomaly or if it could be hybrid. without better pics i can't tell if those two you saw fall into this category.

By the way sorry for the crappy pics, it was from my cel phone...
