Started a new tank today. The plan is to put some banded killifish it in . Hard to tell from the pics but there is a chamber on the left where the pump will be housed with groove that runs along the back which leads to a waterfall on the right. The plan is to fill the tank about 40% full and have a few plants and mosses up the back ground.

Nice setup! Did you make the background in the tank with expanding foam?
Mummichogs will have a little more color than the killis ?

The background is styrofoam and silicon covered in hydraulic cement. It is what i used on the back ground for my trout tank and it worked great! The back ground on the trout tank is flatter and more basis, but I went fairly complex on this one so I can plant the upper back ground.

Its funny that you bring up Mummichogs. I really wanted to do them, but understand they need some salt in the water. I wanted to full fresh water due my planted plants for the tank.

Cool background. Both look really nice.
Mummichogs can live in fresh water. I have caught them in the Kennebec as far up as Augusta, and the salt wedge barely goes beyond Merry meeting Bay.

Nice I'll have to consider it. I knew they could tolerate fresh , but didn't think it was long term. I know they are very hardy fish, I'll have to figure out where I can get some.

They live right along side killis, shallow weedy areas will be best. Got a small seine net?
