Banded Tiger Loaches and Berdmore Loach

Berdmorei loaches are awsome! I have a Shoal of 12 (+ a big Blue that thinks hes a berdmorei). Have kept them with Exodons, Rope Fish, King Kong Parrot, Synodontis, Belly Crawler SP. They are a sight to see and hear in a shoal, zipping and clicking around the tank expecially around feeding time. My biggest ones are probally around 6-7".
Are these fast-growing loaches like yo-yo loaches and blue botia loaches, or are they slow-growers like clown loaches?

fairly slow growers, i have had mine for over a year and the biggest is pushing 7", they were probably around 4" when i got them.

Do these loaches stay skinny as they grow, or do they fatten up? Also, I was looking at a youtube video of these loaches. I notice that they didn't have the bright red tails. Is that something that comes later or should they have that from the start. Here's the video:
