I don't know if you all know this but, Banggai Cardinalfish (Pterapogon kauderni) are now on the red list and it looks like its been this way for a few months now. So, with this being said, they will be harder to find. The wholesaler, at my work, let me know today that they will no longer be getting any more in so, if you see these fish, and are able to house them, then you might want to pick a few up. They are a great schooling fish that are reef safe.

They have been for a few months. Apparently they've been wiped out due to over-exploitation

Hard to believe, since they spawn so easily in captivity.

yeah, it's an odd case. Originally they were rejected the status, but then they changed their minds... there are a couple of threads on it. I guess any you see now are becoming increasingly "last chancers"

I assume you can still get them in a couple monmths because they breed. I know my LFS has had a few breed very easily, and the dinosaur named Petco routinely has them in stock, so I assume you can save one from there. I got 3 of them there and they did fine!

i just bought 6 the otherday and set them up in a 30 QT tank. hopeing to get them to breed and sell them to my lfs. he offered me 2 bucks per baby fish, so thats a pertty decent deal, just to house them untill there old enough to be transported a few mins to a different tank.
