Is it possible to add a banjar to a group of datnoids if the banjar is not able to eat the datnoids? Since I heard that banjars are pretty aggressive like a jardini. Other tankmates are gold plecos. Are banjars considered solo fishes like jardinis? Whats the aggression level on banjars?

Yes it's possible, it just depends on the fish itself. ;) I've heard of aggressive Banjar Red and I've heard of peaceful ones.

Good luck. One I knew of went after the dats whenever it felt like it. And the dat was a good 9inches. They ended up having to be separated. Its always worth a try...just have a plan in case it doesn't work out.

From personal experience with IT dats, don't do it unless you have a large tank with a cave area for the dats to hide in. A solitary australasian arowana already in a tank has most likely claimed the whole tank as it's territory. The datnoids will tend to take lower part of the tank, and the arowana will want all the tank, which leads to problems. The arowana can be aggresive but will end up recieving a beating when up against a defensive datnoid.
My advice is if you do decide to try it, have a hiding spot for the dats, keep all fish well feed ,and keep good water conditions.
I currently house a banjar in an 260 gallon. . They are just like every other australasian arowana, depends on the individual fish. This particular fish doesn't like other large fish, but is fine with smaller fish that occupy the bottom part of the tank.

Some datnoids just get scared and swim off when getting attacked. :) Arowana usually don't really mind what ever is going on in the lower level of the tank. ;) Mostly mind on the top and middle level.

I have found through experience the larger the tank, the more intersted the arowana is it's surroundings. For some reason the larger the arowana, the more inquisitive it is. SA arowana I have found are less intersted in whats happening below them.

Banjars are asians, and I did some more research. Seems like banjars are the most aggressive asians, looks like I'm gonna have to get a seperate tank or sell off my datnoids.

I don't hear much stories of aggressive Banjar Red, so I think Green is most aggressive Asian Aro. ;)

Of course they are, I just type australasia because it's easier for me than tryping two words, plus I am from Australia and this is how we refer to things which share common trates that are from both regions of Australia and Asia.
