Has anyone ever heard or seen one of these? They're selling them in my lfs, just wondering about them.

Also, what is the latin name for a jag? My lfs is selling one at 7 inches for like $15, thinking of getting it. But it's labeled mangunese (sp) or something like that. There's also a tank full of little ones, for 2 or 3 bucks each. Pics of some juvie jags would be appreciated too PLEASE! New to jags so please be patient with me :)

I'm guessing they spelled it wrong cause it isn't spelled like that on the tank. I suppose they have it labeled somewhat correct. Is the price good? Or is it overpriced for that size jag?

I feel you, but I haven't seen any in the canals by my house. Plenty of oscars, bass, plecos, and koi tho! lol

Also, would it be ok with oscars of similar size?

Depends on the size of the tank, since oscars aren't on the same level of aggression.

Also, about jags in the canals, I've seen them recently down in the MetroZoo area.

I live about 15 minutes west of fort lauderdale airport. :) Not driving to metrozoo just for a jag lol. It would be cheaper to buy it down the street! :D

i agree size of the tank and oscar makes a difference. however nothing written in stone. ive seen bigger o's get clobberred and vice versa. keep an eye on them when you put them in for a few days. if it was me id put him in a 55 till he got to be 5" then let him go in w the big boys.;)
