I have recently emptied out a couple of tanks (a 55 gallon when moving my Jack Dempsey to a 75, and the 75 gallon when I rehomed the Jack Dempsey). I'm currently debating on a couple of set ups .
My first set up involves rocket gar. I'm wanting to get one or two for my 75 gallon. I've read a lot about how they're "peaceful carnivores" (that doesn't sound right to me either) and not to keep them with agressive eaters, but also don't keep them with anything too small. I'm wondering if a banjo catfish would be a good option. I absolutely LOVE catfish, and banjo cats just look so freaking cool.
If they're a bad option, what would be some suggestions? I really want something I don't have yet (currently have a spotted Raphael and a featherfin squeaker)
Second setup I'm considering is in the 55 gallon. Do a little set up for some shell dwellers on one side, do a planted scape on the other side, add some kribs and some Cory cats, and (of course) some shell dwellers. I haven't done much reading on this mix yet so no clue how well it may work out. It was just a late night insomnia idea.
Opinions please
