Does anyone here have any tips on keeping banjo catfish?i just setup my 40 that i had my natives in and moved the natives into a 20 long so i need help because this is my first tropcial tank ive ever had(besides a 1 gallon :P)so plz help and should i change some of hte water or what?

I would just do your normal water change, and add a heater.. keep the temp around 78-80. Banjo Cats like to bury themselves so I would suggest using pool filter sand as your substrate.

Planet catfish got info on these (i remember checking them out). I have never seen one myself in real life, but from pics it is quite nice looking kittie ^^

Good and don't forget to post the pics as he grows

Banjo Cats are one of my favorite cats! They're not very active, soft substrate is best since they like to bury themselves, VERY nocturnal, so make sure you drop in some food at night during lights out. Invest in a submersible heater (I think they are so much better than the cheap hang ons) and keep temperature around 78F-80F They average about 4"

im going to keep the natives for bout a month because my friend loves natives and hes getting a 100 gallon tank next month or bigger then that so im going to give them to him and best part is ill still b able to see them alot ^_^

Just keep up on the WCs til you can move them.

oooo ok ty for that bit of info lol so do you guys think a banjo catfish would be fine in a 40 gallon?

ya it should be ok but you might want to get a bigger tank later
