Banjo catfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
they arent really active at all they just lie at the bottom in the same place and if u have sand they just bury themselves

hmmm how bout congo tetras? im going with sort of an oddball tank but the majority of the fish are going to be bottom dwellers and i want an active schooling fish to liven the tank up.

Used to have one years ago, definately not very active, really only ever moved when he had bloodworm dropped in front of him.
Can be hard to find when they are buried in the sand/gravel.
Cool looking fish though.

I have two and am working on more. (going to try and breed them) And as the previous members have said they do like to hide. But mine usually come out after lights out. I catch them ocasionally when i turn the lights on.

As for an active school. Congo tetras are nice. Very pretty. Why not go with a rare rainbow? If you can find a breeder/shipper/local club you should be able to get your hands on some rather rare beautiful fish. That would be what i would do. Rainbow's are absolutely beautiful.

I guess a better place to start would be what do you plan on stocking it with? cause i'd try a lot of things once. but there are some things that just won't work. (also gives me a chance to think of free swimming catfish, cause they are out there)

Got three of them. They bury themselves in the fine gravel substrate but they hang on swordplant leaves at night, which make me able to see them.

They don't move and they bury themselves...but these are one of my favorite Cat:D
