Does anyone have experiance with these guys i have one buried in my tank and havent caught him eating yet i'm not quite sure what to leave out for him my book says they eat small fish live food it states fc tablets? i've kept small danios and carnivore pellets in their no luck yet any one have any suggestions for food or how often they feed seems to be a differance of opinions there also i've read up to months without food ?

I have them! They eat anything on the bottom for me!

I have one...I don't think they'll eat small fish. They're pretty small themselves. Anyways, I feed mine sinking wafers and flakes that fall to the bottom. They're VERY nocturnal. I've only caught mine swimming when I get home late from work and turning on the lights. They're not very active either. But they look cool and I like them.

i have a kneris bajo they spend most of their life buried some speices of banjo do not and stay above the sand,i actually lucked out on him seen his tail sticking out in a tank at the lfs told the guy i'll take it he did'nt have a clue what it was think he cost me 3 bucks

I have a Platystacus (eel tailed banjo) for more than a year now, and it was very shy and relusive to eat at first, but once accostumed it became an "anything-eater". It eats everything from the bottom of the tank, even in daylight hours. Try worms (any kind, especially earthworms if its size allows it) and small shrimps, and it will probably eat.

Best regards.

Daniel.

They can get fairly good sized, They will eat small fish but they love live brine fish and mysids as well as small wotms and minced worms or clams and shrimp meat, they are mainly nocturnal.
