any body keep or has kept banjo cats?
if so, could you give info please

Do you have a picture?
They are from famiy Aspredae there are at least 35 species of banjo catfish from 10 different genus, all look pretty much the same but they vary in adult size from three inches to just over 17", they are all fairly suited to community tanks and seldom eat any but the tiniest of other fish, they love small worms, mysids, and brine shrimp. I don't have one now but have kept a couple before. the ones I had were the most commonly sold type (Bunocephalus amaurus) which gets around six inches, they spent most of the daylight hours hiding in plants. They also love to dig and will bury themselves or dig up plants, mine are usually potted so they just dug around them or under rocks.
Here are a couple pics I found on the web, the dark skinniest one is a whiptail banjo cat, the darkest one is mottled banjo (I think), and the other is the common banjo.

Common Banjo Bunocephalus coracoideus. They get about 18cm or 6.5" the females are more plump and larger girthed. They are totally nocturnal and don't bother smaller fish. Sometimes you will think they are dead and when you pick them up they will curl... thats just what they do. put a flat stone our something for them to crawl under and squirt some mysis or blood worms in there once or twice a week.
