so apparently i was banned from the sport bike site i am on.

basically a girl got banned and i didnt see the threads but apparently someone started asking questions on facebook and posting on there about it.

the admin posted a thread saying no one on the 315riders.com site was allowed to post things about 315 on face book.

i basically told him no one was going to have there personal life outside of 315 delegated by an admin of a site that what we post on facebook is our personal business.

Do you think that the admins of this site or that site or any site should be able to ban you on a forum because u posted question concerns or comments regarding said site on your facebook?

ps i had nothing to do with the fb threads nor do i have any idea what they were about just thought it was redicoulus he was banning people over something like that

pps

Do you as admins feel you should have the right to ban people here that you have problems with outside the site?

even if they dont bring the drama between you 2 into the site?

just curious let me know what you think it would be a huge help.

it's their website, they can do as they please. only thing you could do is ask for a refund of the membership fees

I think if they feel someone's privacy is at risk, whether it be there own, or someone who is a member of their site, they are obligated to take action.

I'm pretty sure you had to click an "I agree to these terms and conditions" box, and when you did, you agreed to follow those terms and conditions. You essentially signed a contract with boundaries on what could be discussed outside of the site... Those boundaries were probably crossed.

That's just my guess, though...

I dont think they should have any regulations on any site but there own, FB is not their site so they shouldnt be able to do anything with that. You have a freedom of speech right to your own personal pages (such as FB or Myspace... ) imo, and FB and Myspace have the right to regulate their sites as they seet fit. Its your personal page so I dont believe they have the right to tell you what you can or can not do on it.

nothing in terms and conditions that talk about facebook rights

also no ones privacy was at risk i talked to my friend the other night and she said that she just posted so that her good friends on 315 knew she was banned and needed to be informed of get togethers via facebook.

i guess then people started asking questions and saying that frank needed to be an admin and ban people for breaking rules not because he had issues outside of the site with them

I'm no MOD of course but if their talking about how they got banned or anything like that then I can see why the ADMIN did this. It's like in work, if someone gets fired they can't be telling someone else about it. Even if it was "hey, Jim got fired because he was fat"(IDK lol) you can't be telling others unless it was a public firing. I think it's dumb and agree with you but I'm just saying that's probably how it went down.

you mean like when people get fired from work for posting inappropriate stuff about their work on facebook?

I guess it's there website and they can do whatever they want with it.

Well...it's getting to a point where you really can't have a personal life in public. I've been hearing a lot of stories lately where employers will check up on their employees using facebook and myspace and even youtube. Even going as far as disciplining or terminating them over it. I don't think any employer and especially a site admin (since it's suppose to be fun and helpful) should have any control over anything else you do.
