If an arowana has lost his barbells, will they ever grow back?

On a side note, will a black/blue tolerate tank mates? I'm thinking either bottom feeders or fish that are too big to fit in it's mouth....just not sure if it goes crazy like a jar when it hits a certain size.

I know they have no problem with tank mates what so ever.

Yes the barbell will grow back. But bigger aros tend to recover much slower than the younger one. My 20 inches green lost one of the barbel last month and now I can see the lost one growing out from the root.

You want to buy that crazy cheap $100 10 inch black with the missing barbels in the vendor forums dont you:)

I knew someone had to jump on that super fast for such a good deal...

I have a silver whose left barbel was missing for years. then one day he slammed his face into the tank really hard, going after a crayfish, and cut his face up. within a few weeks the barbell started to grow again, and is now as long as the other, it just grew back a little crooked.
