Does anyone know if rosy or tiger barbs would nip at koi in a pond? I hear the tigers are terrible at nipping fins but the rosy barbs are less likely to if in a large enough group? Currently I have mosquitofish in with my koi and they don't bother the koi. I'm thinking maybe like the mosquitofish, the barbs will be less prone to nipping in a pond?(i've had gambusias kill other fish in aquariums when I didn't know better). My goal is to replace the drab gambusias with small colorful fish that I will take inside before Winter. Any info will be appreciated.

I would think a big group you would be good. I had 10 in a tank that wouldn't bother anybody and I have had a group of 6 that hatted everything

Did you have Tiger barbs or Rosy Barbs? I think either would be a nice color difference fromm the koi and I hear they sometimes munch on stringy algae.

My pond is currently at 75F and gets to about 77-78 before evening. It gets no lower than 70 at night and is 3ft deep, around 750 gallons, maybe a little more with the separated bog area where I keep the more delicate plants.
