my god gsp are messy.. i didnt think much about it when they were still in fresh.... cuz hey its a waterchange.. no big deal....
but now that they are ummm "getting their brackish on".. this math is making me dizzy.. thank god my gf is asian.. though honestly shes not much help... except im making her do all the work (her fish)
from now on wc are getting done in 5g increments or my head is going to explode

the tank is still at like .000000001% or something (dont worry its written down)... but as the % goes up is it best to split the salt into each bucket for the refill... or just add all the salt to the first/last bucket?

Why not just do the normally required 50% WC & then test the SG in the bucket, keeping track of how much salt you use? You cannot have BB in a BW tank, as the substrate is the best buffer you can use. Your SG should be much higher than it is right now. Minimally, 1.008.

Aragonite sand.

will keep in mind the aragonite sand for a substrate for them though

I don't know if this will help or not but here goes. Simple way to figure it out i use a quarter cup of instant ocean on my puff and mono tank per gallon and my water is allways between 1.012 and 1.014 and a simple way to remember if you ever forge is devide the recomended amount of salt for a full salt set up on the box in half and ou will be right on the button. Hope that helps at all. i just mix four gallons at a time and put a cup of instant ocean in the bucket and mix with a sterier and dump in. Diddn't ketch how big you'r tank is mines only a 20 gallon untill next month i'm gonna put them in a new tank that i'm gonna raise there sg to marine ext. But it's easy for me cuzz i just take out what i want with a gallon jud and put the same amount back have a good one. any ways as i stated. a quarter cup on instant ocean or any other marine salt per gallon will put you'r sg between 1.012 and 1.014 which is right about were you should want it for brackish. hope that helps a little.

Have a good one,

Sincerely,

Jeffrey allen Braley

I highly suggest not raising your SG more than .002/week or you'll crash your biological filtration. I also wouldn't guess--get a hydrometer or refractometer.
