My 29 gallon is bare bottom, but I have a little question... How do you clean them? It has alot of fish poop, un eaten fish food and the plants at the top are covered in fish poop. Should I just chunk the plants? or take them out? Just wondering... how to clean them...

use a powerhead to keep your bottom clean. just aim the powerhead at the bottom, and the current will take all the crap up to your filter. and what kind of plants?

Plastic plants. XD Should have specified. Where do I buy a power head and how much does it cost? I also think I might need a bit bigger filter.

any pet store will carry powerheads, and you can get a nice one for under $20.00. and you can always use a bigger filter, especially with a catfish in there...:)

Yeah. Epessically since the little bugger is almost a foor long! Myabe the day after Thanksgiving I could go to Petco or PetSmart for one

i have a small 10g fry tank that is our only barebottom . I just usually gravel vac whenever i see it get buildup of old food or poop on thebottom. Its super easy.

My 6x2x2 tank is barebottom, all I do is when I see a buildup of fish poo or uneaten food, I just siphon it out. Easier than gravel vacuuming.
