I've seen alot of really nice bare bottom tanks and i think i wanna get one later on like when i finish highschool and i was just wondering how do they work?? Like where does the needed bacteria in the tank live? I thought they needed the substrate to live in

Hmm i have noidea on what i want my tank to look like so i was going BB. does it drive the wild fish nuts? LMB and Channel Cat

No, it wouldn't bother your fish, although i'd still put in hides for the comfort of the fish.

What turned me on with the whole idea of "bare" tanks was the photos coming in from Japan....Really clean looking....At one time or another, I had all my single species tanks bare....Flowerhorns, Midas Devil, and even a young shoal of rbp.....

What type of fish are you planning on putting in the tank. I know a few of my fish would be stressed out if that happened to them.

well i would like to get a large one bout like 600. I would want a rather calm tank suck as maybe a couple rays, aros, some nice catfish
