so lfs has one really active and healthy & eyeballing around 6-7" +
so here are my questions...

1.how much should i be looking at for it? low baller/good price/avg price/over priced
2.since its smaller would i be able to house it with my other monsters or kept
separately? my mosters all range from 12"+ (oh ya plus 2 turtles...lol:D)
3.how big do these monsters get?
4.how aggressive are they?

TIA

any feed back?

First of all, this should be in the other characins section.

Anyways, do you know what kind? There are a handful of species of freshwater barracuda ranging from 3"-16". There are also fish that are called freshwater barracuda that are not, such as Brycons.

If it is truly a barracuda, it will likely be a nervous fish and will only eat live fish for quite a while in the beginning and may or may not begin to take other kinds of foods as it gets older.

Agreed could grows to any size. They are not a great fish to add too already established monster tanks. There are a silvery fish and that attracts some fish to strike at them. Being skittish and silvery can be a bad combo with alot of big mouths around.

thx for the info guys guess ill just go and oogle over it at the lfs and maybe in the future get one in a separate tank.

it looks like a tat but not shure has gold coloring around the gills and a black spot/stripe thats horizontal at end near the tail & the little fin on top infront of the tail is white/clear? and the tip of the tail is slighty red/reddish but faint. goin for 125 but i think i can get it for cheaper if i were to buy it.
