It depends on how cold it is. I'm in Brisbane, and it is always bloody hot, so I took my heater out. It will be going back in when it cools down a bit.
What are your local conditions? They are listed as being found in waters ranging from as low as 15C to as high as 28C. At the lower end they are sluggish, feed poorly, and don't grow well.
