barred midas fading?

hay ya'll,
i purchased a barred midas about 2months ago. hes a bout 4-6inches, he looking very beautiful in him self, but his face has started turning orange and so has his fins. i have wondered if the man who i purchased him off had maybe bred him from an orange midas and a barred, is it possible that if this is the case that his colour pigments will die and leave the patchy look like the orange 1,
or do barred midas do a slight colour change untill the final colour?

the 1st 2 pics are of him now and the last 1 is about 2 months ago

these fish often change colour before they are fully mature, there is a chance it will go completely orange

pretty sure he's gonna completely fade and turn into a normal midas.

goood bcuz i originally wanted the orange colour form but i cudnt find 1 so i had him ... i wudnt change him for anything but wud be better if he does change to orange.. i think i might pop down to the lfs to ask the guy about him more detailed

I have barred midas, and they are not fading.. so it could have been that you're was not a barred.

Here is mine at about 5.5".

I have a male at 6" that looks the same, and I have a female who has a slight pink on her chest, but he bars are extremely black.

yeah those look like regular devil/midas going through the peeling process

i just popped down to the lfs n the guy said he bred a regular midas with a barred midas .... so now i know why hes started to peel lol
does anybody know of 1 of these..will he keep abit of his bars or will he definatly fade out. because his black bars have faded alot since i had him

he will probably end up all orange

I have a barred midas as well, can anyone help me with the bars, his bars appear ad disappear frequently, when i turn on the light, all his bars disappear, but sometimes when he is chasing another fish in the tank, his bars come out so dark and clear. is this normal?? he is the most dominant one in
tank. I am sure he is not stressed with anything including light, as he roams freely, and eats, chases other fish when I turn on the aquarium light.

so if anyone can help me with his bars, it would be nice.

My barred midas never faded .. Yours is peeling fading similar to a Flowerhorn . More than likely a hybrid Midevil ..
