Bartoni's spawned.... I'm kicking myself!

Ever want to kick yourself for pressing your luck? I do.... more often than I should!

My Bartoni's spawned earlier this week after MONTHS of waiting.... their first spawn was unsuccessful since they (or the other fish in the tank) ate their eggs. Well, I had told myself that if/when they spawned again I would pull the eggs and put it in a floating container til they hatched.... I pressed my luck and waited one day too many... the eggs are gone and I'm a little upset with myself!

BTW, the "other" fish are Orange Head Tapajos (Eartheaters) that are bottom/gravel sifters.... they have got to be the culprets! Argh! Next time!

My saggitaes finally had a succesful spawn (after 5 attempts) and my male killed the other male. Now I've got 3 females. These are going to be fun to rehome.

it's normal... they eat their first few batches before they calm down and raise them. you have too much traffic in your tank now - sell the geos or put the bartoni in their own tank. too much activity around them gets them all skittish.
