I just saw some basketmouth cichlids for sale at my LFS. Will they be compatible in a 300 gallon with my stock:

1x Red Streaked Gold Severum
1x Uaru
1x Blood Red Parrot
1x Geophagus
1x Leopard Ctenopoma
1x Clown Knife
6x Clown Loaches
3x Ornate Bichirs
2x Endlicheri Bichers
5x Red-Tail sharks

Fish are all small to medium, and the basketmouth would be similar size to the cichlids I already have. Thanks!

My take on the combination, would "not" be to worry about size, in that size tank, but feeding needs, and preferences
You have a couple that will be vegetarians as adults (the severum, and Uaru).
You want to add the planktivore (the basket mouth i.e. Chaetobranchopsis) sometimes challenging unless conditioned to aquarium foods,
Geophagus, that prefer to live i.n shoals of 4 or more of their own kind and feed on the substrate.
A bunch of predators, Ctenopoma, Knifeand some Bichirs.
Bottom feeders Loaches and sharks.
And a fake cichlid mutant the BP

There are a few genera known as basketmouth cichlids. Are we talking about Acaronia or Caquetaia? And if it’s the latter, which species?
