Im going through them like crazy, the last one I bought only lasted about two months. This isnt the norm. is it? So why do mine keep burning out so fast. Theyre on 12 off 12.

I just use halogen bulb that you get at home depot. I normaly get them in packs to save money, they last a good bit.

no thats not normal, they should last 6 months to a year. are they getting wet? been getting power surges?

No power surges, as for getting spashed I'm not sure, my girlfriend things its a possibility tho. If they are getting splashed what would be the best way to protect it from that?

I've been using a 75 watt basking bulb, anyway you can link me online to the one that would be equivalent to it?

If they are getting wet, you'll go through them like you are........

Either pony the money up and buy the "specialized" Reptile Bulbs that are made to get wet, or

1) Use Outdoor Floods that are made to get wet......

2) Buy cheap bulbs and replace them as needed.....

Alright so any input on what kinda wattage I would want for flood lights to equal about the same basking temp as a 75watt basking bulb?

Is thr bulb subject to vibrations or shaking? That could cut the lifespan drasticly.

Its hanging but its in an area where it doesn't move unless I physically move it

What is the lamp rated for??? Do you hava 75 watt in a fixture rated for up to 250 watt for example? I think its from getting wet or high humidity. Zoomed kahes a halogen bulb with splash gard just for aquatic turtles.
