We don't have any freshwater bass here in Ireland, but off the coast we have some excellent fishing for Atlantic Sea Bass.

Down south of the country in Waterford & Wexford is where most bass fishing is done.

These are a couple of pics of last years trip to Waterford.
I had 7 bass between 2lb and 6lbs in one session on bait & then 3 the following morning on lures.

These were caught in miserable weather in the early hours of the morning to catch the right tide.

(Date on the pics is wrong)

Cheers guys.
We don't have any native carp though there are some manmade carp fisheries.
Our main freshwater species are: Pike, Perch, Roach, Rudd, Bream, Eel, Tench, Brown Trout & Salmon.

Of these even fewer are actual native species but they are widespread enough to appear native.

We also have stocked fisheries with Rainbow trout.

I envy you guys abroad with lots of unusual & colorful species...
Even in the UK next door they have chub, barbel & grayling which would seem exotic enough over here.

nice fish, seabass wou'd be awesome in a monstertank

There is some excellent fishing over here but unfortunately most of it is a long way from the part of Ireland that I live in.

Sea bass would be excellent in a monster tank alright, not many people here keep native marines as you need to run a chiller to keep the water at the right temp.

The average size of bass here is between 2 and 6 lbs but there are double figure fish caught every year. I think the record is 16 or 17lbs.

nice catch! youre lucky to live there, its always been on my list of "dream" vacations..
