i was hoping id be able to keep a LMB in my pond. its about 1180 gals and has 3 small koi, 4 goldfish, 5 bluegill (will add 5 more in spring from my tank) alot of snails and about adozen fathead minnows.

is this enough space for a LMB and maybe a channel or bullhead?

ive finally got the water perameters to calm down and ive had the same fish since Oct. so im doin pretty well. thought it was about time to introduce a few new fish.

i can get 'em small ...lol.

i understand the food chain thing, not worried about replacing minnows once a month...

and the bluegill are actually green sunnies, they grow really fast and should get too big for the bass in less than 5 months.

i was thinkin of gettin a bass at around 3-4" and a channel about 5-6"

Bass are mean, big, badass fish. They can grow pretty fast too if well fed. Say goodbye to those minnows and any other fish in there that can fit in its big mouth. I wouldn't worry about the bluegills, they get too big for the lmb, and you should be fine with the koi as long as their fairly large. I wish I had a pond to keep a few LMB in!

I would go with bullheads instead of a channel cat. They get big and would eventually be a big bioload.

the bass would destroy those gold fish. i had a goldfish pond with about 30 small feeder goldfish in it. and my sisters brought home a bass they cought and put it in the pond and about 3 days later there were no more goldfish =(
