Ok I know fishing season just started but since last year and the start of this year nothing I have tried has worked... And its not me cause tonight I did go cat fishing and caught a 16" channel catfish on a ultra light pole so it was a blast haha. But I want everyones tips for bass fishin such as what lures work for you, what areas of lakes are best, any general or advanced advice. Expecially stuff that the pro tournament fishers do to catch the bass. I am in Ohio too so I am going for large mouth small mouth bass. So any help? I would love you long time:naughty:

o no one fishes eh?

spinner baits and senko worms in heavy cover and mossy and vegetated areas, works every time - crankbaits and rattle traps in open water/rocky areas

I've had luck with small, brightly colored crankbaits, stuff that is completely unnatural looking compared to the local baitfish. I think they are more likely to investigate it when it doesn't look familiar. My Dad, Uncles, and Cousins are always telling me "You need big lures to catch big fish", but I do better than them on most days.

Another tip is to fish areas with cover where smooth water meets choppy water, it usually indicates an elevation change or drop-off where fish congregate.

I finally caught my first bass last month on a football jig with a crawdad trailer. I was sight fishing offshore and tried every other bait I had, but the jig was the only one that got the bass' attention. I had to jerk it very slightly and slowly though but caught it after my 10-15 cast. Turned out to be a 3 pounder. I caught couple more bass using the same jig. Haven't been out fishing lately due to colder weather in the norcal area but it's going to get hot real soon.

Senkos. Nothing better. I've been out 3 times and have caught 15-20 bass that would be keepers if they were in season here. Only 2 more weeks until they are. Biggest so far was about 5 pounds.

My personal favorite would have to be the shiner minnow. From off shore, through the minnow with a bobber set-up right where the open water meets the weed line. Never EVER fails.
