It seems no matter what i try they will only eat live bloodworm.
That was all they were fed on from fry at the retailers and nowv i am struggling to get them off it. They are around 3 inches at present

Any ideas please?

At least that's better than feeders.

In your place I would try a modified version of Dmacks prooven way.

Unfortunately, they are too young to starve.

Try feeding live and frozen at the same time. I don't think they would ignore the frozen when it's all mixed. Do this for a while and ween them off the live.
I found that to get my cichla on pellets I had to offer them with the foods they were eating already.

With my small bass (about 5") i take a spoon with a small amount of bloodworms and drop it in to him. When the ball hits the water he attacks it and eats it. After doing that for a while i started putting in baby cichlid gold in with the worms and he accepts them pretty well, only spits a few out now.

youre lucky. mine only eat live feeders. thats worse. hahahaha.

feed them whatever theyll eat, live, bloodworms etc.. till they hit 8" then you can change their diet to whatever you like..

the only problem with frozen bloodworms is its a 85% moisture feeding, you want things that are r high in proteiin etc., guppies if anything

:iagree:

Also at 3" they are alittle large to be trying to hatch live brine :) If they will take it fine.. But that will require allot to curb the appetite.

How often are you feeding?
