Well, due to some circumstances I need to part with my pbass. I am in no hurry, but my entire 240 and its inhabitants will be needing new homes in the coming months. Not sure if I will find anyone that can take them properly. So I have contacted Bass Pro Shops in San Antonio Texas and they may be interested in taking my 4 cichla temensis peacock bass!!! They have a huge aquarium display. I will not know until Monday if they can take them though.
What do you all think? I think it would be a great place for my pbass...plenty of room for them and should be well taken care of. I think they have 2 largemouth bass and some catfish in there so far and that is it.

Do you think that if I asked them for monetary compensation they would? Or would they give me store credit? I can't think of any Bass Pro Shops that have peacock bass on display, would be unprecedented. Especially since pbass are known as one of the top prized catches for anglers in the world. My pbass temensis are getting very large, so would be very hard to ship I would think.

aw tank, i'm so sorry.. even sorrier that you're in TX and i can't take those tems off your hands for ya..

they'll probalby give you something for them, the reason no other bps have them, is becuase they are an introduced speices to the U.S, there not native, bps only has native fish on display, though in places like florida where they have be introduced, they are a popular game fish. and i guess i shouldn't ask about possbily buying them, because, i can just image the hassal of trying to ship 4, 20" pbass, through that kind of distance. good luck with them anyways.

So does that mean that maybe they would not accept them? I mean if they are a popular gamefish in Florida maybe they would take that in to consideration??? Hmmm....

they do natives and p bass are not.
you never know tho
but i would say start looking for another way. :irked:

That and if they are keeping native fish like lmb they are probably keeping them in much cooler water than pbass need as lmb and the sort get really on edge in 84-86 degree water all the time. Even if they had a warm water tank I don't think they would compensate you because they would have no idea of the value of such a fish in live form as they're not fish hobbiest's but sportsmen.

That said I wouldn't hold my breath. I would love to have them even for a monetary fee. but again shipping 20" tems would be a severe pain for you. Even a/p to a/p.

Well even the Bass Pro Shop in FL doesn't have Cichla in their tank. And if they did it will not be temensis. I suggest finding a public aquarium for them. That is the best IMO.

Good Luck!
