where can I find a small lmb or smb do they sell them or would I have to catch them I was a small one 3inch or smaller

You would have to buy them. It is illegal to catch fish for your aquarium in Cali.

Also, since they're sport fish, there's probably minimum size limits to what you can keep, regardless of what state you live in.
