All right guys and gals, a much needed update to the fishing thread is here. I haven't done as much fishing this year as I've wanted to (I've been to 5 weddings since may, 2 bachelor parties, and I have one more in september) but I did my best to make a little time to get out there.
We'll start off with Lake Ripley. We hit this lake early when the weeds were still manageable. It only gets to about 18 feet deep and is shaped a lot like a bowl so the weeds really take over the shallows. My little bro with his Personal Best Largemouth @ 19 1/2 inches.
Moving on to Lake Waconia. We hit this lake up early for Muskies but after about 4 hours of nothing, decided to switch it up and work the weedline for some bass. We were pretty successful. This guy is my biggest of the year so far @ just over 19 inches.
And another nice 17 incher from the same area.
Next lake is Lake Jennie. My friend asked if he could bring his girlfriend with, and I said sure, so the pressure was on to produce fish, since its my (my dad's) boat, and I know the lakes. We banked money baby. It was slow at first, but in the early afternoon, an overcast came about and the fish started to move. The bass on this lake are ridiculous. They are all sooo fat. I've never caught so many fish that were all just to stocky. We put a few fish in the boat that were only about 17 inches, but pushed 4lbs.
This was the pig of the day, 4 1/2 lbs roughly only 18 inches!?
In-Fisherman Magazine pose!!
Sweet action pic, that my buddies girlfriend took.
Hopefully more to come!
