All right guys and gals, a much needed update to the fishing thread is here. I haven't done as much fishing this year as I've wanted to (I've been to 5 weddings since may, 2 bachelor parties, and I have one more in september) but I did my best to make a little time to get out there.

We'll start off with Lake Ripley. We hit this lake early when the weeds were still manageable. It only gets to about 18 feet deep and is shaped a lot like a bowl so the weeds really take over the shallows. My little bro with his Personal Best Largemouth @ 19 1/2 inches.

Moving on to Lake Waconia. We hit this lake up early for Muskies but after about 4 hours of nothing, decided to switch it up and work the weedline for some bass. We were pretty successful. This guy is my biggest of the year so far @ just over 19 inches.

And another nice 17 incher from the same area.

Next lake is Lake Jennie. My friend asked if he could bring his girlfriend with, and I said sure, so the pressure was on to produce fish, since its my (my dad's) boat, and I know the lakes. We banked money baby. It was slow at first, but in the early afternoon, an overcast came about and the fish started to move. The bass on this lake are ridiculous. They are all sooo fat. I've never caught so many fish that were all just to stocky. We put a few fish in the boat that were only about 17 inches, but pushed 4lbs.

Hopefully more to come!

Thanks man, it was definitely a great time. :D

Waconia isn't too far from the cities there. Definitely a lake worth checking out. I don't fish too close to the cities, but I hear there are some awesome lakes in the metro area as well. I definitely want to get out on Minnetonka sometime.

Awesome! Didnt know Lake Jennie produced! A few weeks ago I tried lake Steiger and Lake Zumbra. We did okay. Biggest was 3.12lbs. Thanks for the pics! Looks like you had a good time.

Try lake Demontreville next time. Its a catch and release only. Produces good 3lbers. This lake gets a lot of pressure knowing its in the metro area.

Also was that Lake Jennie in Meeker or Douglas county?

Thanks bro, it was a great time. :D

This was Lake Jennie in Meeker County. My parents just bought a house just north of Jennie early this year so I plan on getting to know it well. I hear that they stock a lot of walleyes in Jennie every year as well, but I haven't had a chance to fish for them yet.

PS - A friend of mine who fishes Jennie regularly caught a 20 incher a few months ago, and his girlfriend caught a 20 incher there as well! Some big bass in that lake for sure!
