Well, since this is the fishing forum, I thought I'd share with you the story of Bassington. To start, I'd just like to say that I don't know much about fishing, but I love it anyway. I don't know anything about bait or lures, but I can cast pretty well, and I always seem to reel something in. It all started about two years ago when I was on vacation in New Hampshire. I have always tried fishing there, but all I manage to do is catch little pumpkinseeds by droping the line in the water. This year, I was swimming in the lake when I saw a large bass. I was determined to catch something other than a pumpkinseed, so I turned to the local fishing expert who taught me how to put a crayfish on a hook. The only problem was, I didn't have a rod. Still, I managed to find a foot long, bright yellow string (used to attach a whistle to my lifejacket for boating) as well as a rusty old hook that I nearly stepped on. I put the two together, put on my snorkel, and swam out in search of a bass. I hadn't gone more than a couple feet when I saw one. I pushed over a rock, grabbed a crayfish out from under it, and attached it to the hook. I then dangled the bright yellow line out in front of me. The Bass took it! I was only a couple feet from shore, so I managed to haul it out of the water and into a container. I kept it for a couple minutes to brag about my catch, which I deemed "Bassington." I then returned it to the wild. In the week that I was on vacation, I was able to catch six other bass, and two bullhead catfish, throught this unusual method.

Here are some pictures of the original Bassington:

As ashamed as I am to say it, I was too nervous to pick up the bass by its mouth, so I had my sister do it.
