Is it safe to use a tin of leftover bathroom paint, to paint the inside of my stand where my sump will sit?

I was thinking of using it as its moisture resistant and as its left over it will help in keeping my costs down.

I think i read somewhere because of the moisture resistant properties of it, its bad for the fish - is this true?

any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated as my stand is built and a thread will be going up soon! :headbang2

unless you are immersing your fish in the paint or the paint in teh aquarium water, you'll be fine. The fumes that are given off subside pretty quickly, and there shouldn't be a problem. Personally, I prefer a marine paint or sealant instead of a kitchen and bath paint. They tend to stand up to the humidity a bit better.

i was thinking of maybe adding a very small pc fan on the side of the stand to extract the air thus keeping the humidity low?

thanks for the info - helps a lot

My fishroom is painted in bathroom paint. As long as you arent painting the inside of the tank with it,its fine.
