I have a male and female Bathybates vittatus WC. It is my avatar. Very sensitive to everything, need hardwater. they are in a tank by themselves. I got them on pellet. Very cool fish, huge eyes, neon blue tiger pattern. I hope they eventually breed, unlikely however. also if you can get your hands on them keep the tank empty, much like a race car they dont have reverse and die if they go head first into a filter, rock hole etc.
I bought mine wild and paid 120 a piece. they are now more than twice the size. I would consider selling them but I would want 400 beans for the pair. I have a pro fish guy that would ship them for me but I would not guarantee live arrival. they are definitely male and female. I have had them for 1.5 years.
