No not fish & chips... Recently my mono pair done some breeding and produced some wigglers, these unfortunately died, however the last couple of days my male looks like he has been seriously beating the female? she has loads of scales missing and looks like she has had a real hard time? is this normal?

cheers
Sam

Ya my pair did that too, but what I did, was I just left them. What I did was is I went to home depot and got the water softener salt, don't get the pellets, get the cystalized ones. It's the same exact thing as reg. aquarium salt. Same dosage and everything but put it in a container like a bowl or a cup and put the salt in there, slowly lower the container with the salt in it into the tank, leave the salt in the container, and doing that of she feels like that she can just go over and take a little salt bath if she needs to. I really like it this way, and also if I have rocks in your tank, dont use prime, salt, and melafix at the same time unless you want your rocks green. But just a little FYI, but ya salt should do it, and maybe raise temp. Let me know how everything is.

Male NA bass (LM, SM, SB) will beat on a females abdomen to loosen her eggs so she will lay. I imagine with cichla it's for the same reason.
