I'm Where I'm At
Which one do you like more? Take note, these movies are of similar genre/sub-genre, have the same general feel and appeal to the same general audience. They won't always be alike in all areas. Picking one doesn't mean the other one suck.

Toy Story

vs

The Lion King

Oh man, this was the hardest one yet for me... Its really hard to compare them for me, I was at such different stages of puberty when they came out, but I went with Toy Story cause I did go as either Buzz or Andy (dressed as Buzz, full cardboard helmet+wings and all) for three Halloweens in a row, so Toy Story for me!

That was a tough one, but I chose Toy Story in the end(because the Toy Story sequels were better than anything the Lion King spawned).

sorry but computer generated imagery (especially done by PIXAR) OWNS old school cartoons anyday. i don't care what old school movie you would've thrown up, every person under 40 prop would pick toy story, finding nemo, moster inc, cars etc etc.

y'all know toy story was the first pixar full film? they literally changed the landscape of "family" movies forever

the sequals should not be considered since the poll was only for part 1 vs lion king

I do know that toy story was the first full length film using computer animation. I remember when it came out, i thought to myself, animation movies will never be the same. but graphics isn't the only factor in this poll.

if it was, i'd never use Lion King. I would've used Nemo or something. I chose lion king because of it's over all brilliance. It had a great story, likable characters and originality. although i did some research, and there is some contraversy over it's originality. and i put lion king up against toy story because it was a revolutionary film. like we said, it was the first full length film of it's kind.

Lion King holds the current record for most $ made at the theaters worldwide from any hand drawn and computer animated film. it was beat by nemo and toy story 3 and i think another one, but with the re-release this passed fall, it took first again. but even so, for a hand drawn animated film to only be toppled by a few computer animated film giants is amazing. anything computer animated film less amazing than toy story and nemo can't hold a candle to lion king. so overall, i choose lion king

btw, i can see the argument with toy story and nemo, but cars and monsters inc gets owned by lion king

no way, once CGI came out, i have not watched a single hand drawn movie because i don't have kids. you're just forced to. i bet you'd still have found a way to see the pixar movies though if you didn't.

if i'm flippin through channels and the lion king, cinderalla, lil mermaid etc etc is on, i keep flippin. if i flip through the channel and see the brilliance of pixar or DreamWorks animations (shrek, madagascar, megamind, kung fu panda) i'm hooked

i'm somewhat of an artist so i enjoy all animated films

i love claymation too. coraline and nightmare before christmas are dope movies. what i love doing is looking at the commentaries and all the extra stuff from the dvd and you get to see the clay models being made and all that stuff. if i can go back, i'd have pursued something like that instead of doing what i'm doing now. dont' know what the heck i was thinking

you're prob still younger then most of the people doing that stuff. might be time for a career change.

man, i looked into school. local art schools here, 90K for a bachelor's

screw that. my bachelor's cost me 15K only thanks to grants that i qualified for and i thought that was a lot. after over 10 years of paying back the loans, I'm barely down to a few grand
