Hello there people...

i think one of my 2 Albino Red-Fin Shark's got attacked and eaten by either my other Albino Red-Fin Shark or my Betta Fish (when the lights were off, when i turned them back on i found fins in the tank) so which could be the killer... Mr. Betta or Mr. Shark???? :screwy:

probaly the shark. As far as I have dscovered while breeding bettas is that they are afraid to get nipped so they dont usually start fights. Im guessing to that if it was the lights were out then it was the shark cause bettas eyes just suck in the dark and bettas kinda sleep. When the lights go out all my bettas just kinda stop where they are and just mellow out.

Howdy,

I don't know about Labeo frenatus, but I do know that Labeo bicolor do (generally) not tolerate any other specimen of their own species in a tank. Furthermore, they can be quite aggressive to other fish when they get older. It'd have to be a huge tank for them to get along (which you maybe have, I don't know). Since frenatus and bicolor are both Labeos (or Epalzeorhynchus nowadays), it can safely be assumed his buddy killed him.

If you only had a few of these then it was most likely a shark. I have 6 RTBS, 5 Whitefin sharks, and 1 rainbow shark in a 55 gallon tank. When these guys are kept in groups of 4 or more there are usually very minor problems, usually the weakest will be the punching bag. However, when kept in large groups of 8+ they become very docile. Mine school together, no fighting lights on or off, and will all eat at the same time in one big attack on whatever food I put in. I used to have 4, and 1 was constantly picked on, but now he is growing, and has had a growth explosion.
