Does anybody know how fast Bay Snooks grow? I bought one that was labeled as a cichla to keep with my two other cichla. Not sure if it is red or green. Will it be able to keep up with them? Or will it become lunch eventually?

depends on how much you feed them and how frequent your water changes are. my guess would probably be that pbass outgrow them faster

Snooks might grow faster then the bass, just due to the fact that the snook will eat anything, as compared to the bass are really picky when small. But yes, growth rate depends on water quality, feeding, etc.

ok well i get that it will not turn down food. But it will only be eating what my cichla will be eating and they eat like pigs. Thanks for the link chinook. I guess what I meant was generally are they fast growers? From what i have read cichla grow faster than most other fish, right? They already have about 1.5-2 inches on the snook.

You can plan on a good 1/2" per month (some months may be more, others a little less), until about 11-12", then it will probably slow down. That's about what my male did from when I got him at 5". You may have a little better growth than that, based on mine going through a time of minimal eating when he decided to breed at around 10-11", and then not knowing his growth and age when I got him. He's about 13" now, and I've probably had him a year and a half or so.
