I thought any markings besides dots on thier back meant they were a "mutt" AKA not pure.

That's a sweet ray, regardless of the politics involved. :)

That is not the case.

This type of BD is just rare. Usally only seen if one of the parents are TI of high grade.

I always thought of the thousand island (TI) look as "freckles" around the eyes and top of the head on a Black Diamond Leo.

Nonetheless, you got yourself a nice ray. I like the perimeter spotting.
