Well after my last mishap with the pup dying from the adults chewing on it I decided to use a baby gate and divided one of my other pregnant bd/leo females. Last night she had her pups and still one was chewed on by the mom and died the lone survivor made it because it escaped somehow past the divider to the other side with all the other females. So I guess one is better then none. He looks pretty good and should turn out with the king hen spotting.

sad but you did at least get one nice (amazing) looking pup in the end

Very nice pup. Dont recall, does the Hen have king spotting or is it coming from recessed genetics?

The way I view it is the "King" just refers to the spot pattern vs. the std. single spot that most henlei have and it's seems every time I cross my hen to leos they produce this spotting. I have a few other pups out there and maybe the owners will post some updated pics. Most likely the spotting is coming from the combo of leo/hen. Here is a half brother, bred with just a classic leo and he was just born at Christmas and his spots are popping and dividing all the time.

He looks great!

Very interesting and very nice pup. Reminds me of Vamptrev's hybrid with nice King spotting that oldfish has. I believe his was Leo/Hen x Leo though.

Do you have a female Hen that has crossed with this male Hen, if so does it produce the standard Hen spotting? That would be a good way to tell if its a recessed gene or like you said a result from the Hybridization with the BD/Leo.

I have a really nice female large spot Hen I cant wait to cross with my male BD (Hopefully)
